Community Learning @ the OCC
I started doing IT at Ordsall Community Café one year ago and have found it fantastic! I have learned to do digital video, and I am good at it. Thus my video blog (‘JonThm’ on youtube.com) has got 39,000 hits in the last year.
This is my major IT work of late – I used to work in the area, so am far advanced compared to most people. Graeme copes with me though! Without the in put of MCIN and Graeme, I would never have embarked on this work: Which his making videos about my PhD area of Global Warming, and also social matters in Ordsall.
It gives me a vehicle to bend the minds of people out there! The majority of whom I will never meat or even hear from. I used to get 20 messages as day, now I get about 5, saying ‘Wow, I never thought of that!’
I had 30% brain damage in a car accident, so if I do not write stuff down, it is gone. Computers and IT allow me to control and plan my life. Without a diary I am lost.
I may be quite bright, but I have to accept I am damaged goods. The computer does not care! It is unimportant as to how many functioning limbs you have. Even with sever problems, technology has work arounds.
MY pressing need now is to compose house music! This uses samples to make pleasant noises. And is not copyrighted, except to you. Thus you can include this music on your blogs.
